Philadelphia Medical Weight Loss Tips and Recipes

Tomato Shrimp Frappe
  • Ingredients:
  • tomato juice – 1.5 cups
  • lime juice – 2 tablespoons
  • horseradish – 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Tabasco sauce – just a few drops
  • shrimp – 1 pound cleaned and thoroughly cooked
Begin by mixing together did tomato sauce, horseradish, salt and Tabasco sauce and the lime juice. Then pour this into refreezing tray. Shrimp Cocktail with Remoulade Sauce
  • Ingredients:
  • cooked egg yolk – 3 teaspoons
  • hot water – 3 tablespoons
  • vinegar – 3 tablespoons
  • pepper vinegar – 3 tablespoons
  • horseradish – 1 teaspoon
  • salt – 1 teaspoon
  • mustard – 1/2 teaspoon
  • finally chopped celery to taste
  • Boiled shrimp – 4 cups
Start by mashing the egg yolk and then let this dissolve in water. Add the vinegar and pepper vinegar and sterling the olive oil. Add the horseradish, mustard, salt and celery. Marinate the shrimp in the sauce and in place in refrigerator for at least three hours. You can serve this over top of crisp lettuce leaves in either a cocktail glass or even in a plate. Normally I use this for 6 servings.

Tomato Cocktail
Ingredients:
  • tomato soup – 1 can
  • beef broth – 1 can
  • 1 soup can of water
  • thyme – 1/4 teaspoon
  • marjoram – 1/4 teaspoon
  • worcestershire sauce– 1/8 teaspoon
  • melted butter to taste
  • oyster crackers
Mix together everything except for the butter and oyster crackers in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Once it is boiling reduced to heat and let this simmer for about 2 minutes. Next add the butter and then pour into your cups. You can serve this with 1 – 2 crackers floating on top.

Aspic Canapés
 Ingredients:

  • unflavored gelatin – 2 packets
  • 2 cans of beef for a – 10.5 ounces per Canyon
  • Madera wine – 1 cup
  • Tabasco sauce – 1/2 teaspoon
  • 24 hard cooked eggs places
  • 24 toasted bread rounds
Sprinkle the gelatin in 1 cup of beef broth to soften. Place over low heat and stir this until it's totally dissolved. Once it's dissolved removed from the heat and stir in the remaining broth, wine and Tabasco sauce. Pour half of this mixture into 15 x 10 x 1" pan or two 8 in.² pants. Let this chill in refrigerator until it's almost firm. Arrange the egg slices 1 inch apart in jelly; spoon on the remaining jelly. Keeping the eight slices in place and covered with aspic. Let this chill until his firm then cut it into rounds leave in the aspic edge on each slice. Place on the toast rounds cut to the same size and then serve. You can even use the liver or ham spread instead of the eight slices. Normally this makes 24 canapes.

Caraway Twists
Ingredients:
  • grated swiss or sharp cheddar cheese – 1 cup
  • caraway seeds – 2 tablespoons
  • 1 piecrust - use any recipe to make a pie crust
  • 1 egg whisked
  • coarse salt – 2 tablespoons
Add the cheese and seeds to the piecrust mixture before adding any liquid. Roll it out on the board as thinly as possible. Cut into strips approximately 1/2 inch wide and 6 inches long. Brush lightly with your whisk egg and sprinkle with the salt. Twist the strips into sticks and bake at  375°F for approximately 9 – 10 minutes on a cookie sheet.

Low Carb Smoothie Philadelphia Medical Weight Loss 
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 ounce of heavy cream

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and enjoy!
